In its 4th year, Hackney WickED continues its mission to fuel London’s thriving East End art scene opening it’s gates for 3 days of extravaganza showcasing work from local and international artists through local galleries, open studios, temporary exhibitions, one off events and much more.
Hackney Wick has more artists per capita than anywhere else in the world, with 624 Studios in Hackney Wick, 1 in 7 people is either an artist or arts centre practitioners (Survey by MUF Architects, 2009). Being Hackney WickED’s last edition before the 2012 Olympic transformation of Hackney Wick area in East London, the focus of this years festival will be to emphasize a global projection of its local arts community.
